Good Afternoon,


My Name is Yoel Gutierrez, actually living in Orlando, FL. Professionally, I have over 20+ years of proven experience in the IT Industry. From OEM Certified Computer Technician, Period in which I have served as a Field or Onsite Technician, Phone or Help desktop Technician, to help high-end clients or customers. Supporting Structural Cabling (Cat5, Cat5e, Cat6, Cat3). Experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining network infrastructures (wired and wireless), wireless Internet, Cable TV, Satellite Antennas, and alarm and surveillance security systems. Project migration Migration to new Servers projects with DMS, HP Service Center, and BMC Remedy Action Request System.


In 2009, I got certified in CompTIA A+, and in 2010, I trained in Microsoft Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008. In 2012, I started studies conducive to a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science with a concentration in Computer Repair and Networking while at the same time preparing to be certified as MTCS Windows Server 2008 to get certified as MCITP Server 2008. From 2011 to the present, I have designed WordPress CMS, Adobe Dreamviewer, and Flash for website building. Moreover, I will receive training to get certified in Network+ and Ethical Hacker to increase my portfolio. 


In 2014, I completed my Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science with a concentration in Networking and Application Development. Since 2012, I have been working administering Windows Server environments; I also got trained in ITIL in 2013 and as a Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate in Windows Server 2008, 2012, and 2016, as well as CompTIA Security + and Cisco CCNA. 


In my work experience, I perform very well as a Level II Non-standard technician in Pfizer Pharmaceuticals, PR. In 2012, I was later moved on to work as a Jr. System Administrator for Hotel Courtyard and Casino del Sol in Isla Verde PR with enormous success. The same year, I started as a US Government contractor with ASRC Primus Solution as a Department of Homeland Security System Administrator, supporting several agency divisions. During those years, I supported Windows Server upgrades and maintenance, Backup systems, Network switches, routers, and infrastructure refreshes to Puerto Rico and US Virgin Island Offices. In April 2015, I moved to Orlando, FL, for an opportunity with Harris Corporation in Melbourne, FL, as a System Administrator/Help Desk.


As a Career progression, after 15 years of experience in the technical side, I decided to move forward and jump to the Management side in the IT Industry. In 2015, I accepted a position at Millennium Technology Group in Orlando, FL, which offered me a position as IT Operation Supervisor. As the IT team supervisor, I practice many technical IT methods and duties, including automation, deployment, technology security checks, and Primary Hiring Manager. I was later promoted to IT Operations Manager and Service Desk Manager, and my role falls directly under the Technology Director of Operations. My role demands that I enforce service-level agreements and create Standard Operational Procedures.


Reading books such as H3 Leadership: Be Humble, Stay Hungry, and Always Hustle by Brad Lomenick. I decided to keep learning, and In 2021, I started a Master's Degree in IT Management with a minor in Project Management.

 

Same year (2021), because of the COVID pandemic, I was removed from my duties to join Ocado Group as a Technical Support Supervisor to start up Kroger deliveries Distribution warehouse in Groveland, FL. Later the same year, I accepted an offer with SeaWorld Parks and Entertainment as the Orlando IT Manager. I have been working to support a high-level environment, helping guests and administration. 

 

For the last nine years, I have been fortunate to oversee various level team members, up to 32 Technicians under my direct leadership (Help Desk, Tech Tier 1, Tech Tier 2, Sr, Tech, Network Technicians, and Jr System Administrators and IT Supervisors) Supporting System Servers, Access points, Active Directories, Switch replacements, Domain migrations. Being a part of escalation point, IT outages, Scheduling, and Project Coordination, Wireless Access Point implementation, Room IT renovation, POS Implementation, Vendor coordination, IT procurement, Asset Management and standardizing documentation for the company, and eLearning implementation, Revenue expansion restaurant projects and lastly a new Coaster network and security infrastructure.

 

My background combination in IT and leadership positions, The combination of different work cultures and industries, gives me the experience to be confident to adapt to any organization, which led me to develop excellent skills in technical, Leadership, Project management, and IT research. As a leader, I provided encouragement, troubleshooting, and training for my team. I possess excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills. 

 


In my past experiences, I have led teams of up to 32 technicians from different levels. (15 Helpdesk Technician, 15 Technician (Tier 1 and Tier 2), Jr. System Administrator, Technical Support Supervisor. Leading to complete success and a teamwork environment. My most outstanding professional achievement was turning around the success of my IT department. I transformed an entire team that struggled with frustration and bad habits into a teamwork environment instead of individuals, developing and establishing communication, which brought value to the department and the company and increased productivity for the business's revenue. This causes a domino effect reflected in the quality of work, better collaboration culture, and better planning. Within six months, we achieved 20-25% above our goals, providing value to the team to increase the efficiency and growth in ideas to improve.
